Some other reports point to the same direction and demonstrated for example that APOBEC3G (I) inhibited anoikis, a form of programmed cell death in cells detached from extracellular matrix, by activation of Akt kinase in pancreatic cancer cells [44]; (II) was increasingly expressed by human cervical intraepithelial neoplasia and associated with disease progression [46]; (III) promoted liver metastasis in an orthotopic mouse model of colorectal cancer [52]; and (IV) was associated with resistance of mesenchymal gliomas to radiation-induced cell death [64]. This evidence concerns the gene APOBEC3G and colorectal cancer.
