Several genes associated with bortezomib resistance have been identified in MM cells, including POMP, XBP1, PSMB5, MARCKS, ABCB1, CXCR4, MAF, TXN, TJP1, RPL5, CDK5, and CYP1A1 [16,17,18,19,20,21,22,23]; however, these genes have been examined individually, and usually only using commercially available MM cell lines. This evidence concerns the gene POMP and Miyoshi myopathy.
