ALKBH5 and renal cell carcinoma: Given that the m6A modification is mostly regulated by common m6A writers (METTL3/14, WTAP) and erasers (ALKBH5, FTO), we conducted a comprehensive bioinformatics analysis and found that METTL14 was expressed at significantly lower levels in The Cancer Genome Atlas Kidney Renal Clear Cell Carcinoma (TCGA-KIRC) and International Cancer Genome Consortium (ICGC)-RCC cohorts, compared with other enzymes (Figure S1A).
