TP53 and cancer: In the following sections we examine sex differences in redox biology that pose greater risks for p53 disruption in males, particularly the mutation of TP53. It is not our intention to present a comprehensive review of redox biology in cancer (e.g., Wang et al., 2019) or its intricate links to p53 [as thoroughly done by others, e.g., Liu et al. (2019)]; but rather to extract vignettes pertinent to p53 and cancer-sex disparity.
