Interestingly, CRSs showed much stronger correlation with CSF total tau (AD: R = 0.088, P = 0.082; non-AD: R = 0.19, P = 5.8 × 10−7) and CSF phosphorylated tau (AD: R = 0.12, P = 0.018; non-AD: R = 0.23, P = 2.3 × 10−9) in cognitive normal controls than in AD patients (Fig. 5b, c). Here, MAPT is linked to Alzheimer disease.
