EGFR and lung adenocarcinoma: Otherwise, immunocompromised status (those with human immunodeficiency virus infection, transplanted organs, and cancer) is a risk factor for pulmonary tuberculosis.[12] A recent study indicated that previous pulmonary TB may be associated with more frequent EGFR mutations and poorer response to EGFR-TKIs in patients with pulmonary adenocarcinoma.[13] Our patient was diagnosed with lung adenocarcinoma (with EGFR exon 19 deletions), and pulmonary TB emerged during gefitinib administration.
