Among Danes, individuals with prediabetes had significantly (Wilcoxon test, padj < 0.05) higher levels of interleukin 6 (IL6), tumor necrosis factor α (TNFα), lipopolysaccharide-binding protein (LBP), and intestinal alkaline phosphatase (IAP) compared to normoglycemic individuals. Here, IL6 is linked to prediabetes syndrome.
