Although lack of research on SMC1A in endometrial epithelial cells, SMC1A knockdown appeared to coincide with cell cycle arrest and/or increased apoptosis in human breast, lung, prostate, and colorectal cancer cells in previous reports [24, 25], which indicated SMC1A protein may affect cell proliferation and inhibit apoptosis regulated the cell cycle progression [26–28]. Here, SMC1A is linked to colorectal cancer.
