In univariate Fine-Gray proportional hazard regression analysis, low (Q1) serum ferritin concentration was found to be significantly associated with the development of first AD events (sHR: 2.782, CI 1.156–6.696, p = 0.022) besides 5-point increase in MELD score, presence of comorbidities, HCC, higher than 10 mg/L CRP serum level and anemia (Table 3).
