Ginsenosides have many species, but it is suggested that a few compounds, such as ginsenoside Rb1, Rb2, Rc, Rg1, and Rg3, are able to inhibit the acetylcholinesterase, which is one of the main neurotransmitters in the synaptic neurons of the brain, and butyrylcholinesterase, and therefore have potential for therapy of AD [17].
