Ectopic expression of HMGA1 has been widely reported in different tumors, and overexpression of HMGA1 is associated with progression or poor prognosis in several types of cancers, including pancreatic adenocarcinoma [15], lung cancer [16], breast cancer [17], colon cancer [14], gastric cancer [18], and hepatocellular carcinoma [19].
