Any family history of ovarian cancer (irrespective of number of affected family members) was associated with a germline BRCA1 variant (OR, 2.78; 95% CI, 1.59-4.87; P < .001) but not BRCA2 (OR, 1.36; 95% CI, 0.47-3.97; P = .57). The gene discussed is BRCA1; the disease is ovarian carcinoma.
