It has been shown that increased angiotensin type II (AngII) levels in heart failure, elicit secretion of exosomes by cardiac fibroblasts, which induces neighboring cardiomyocytes to release more AngII and express AngII receptors (AT1R and AT2R) through a feedback process that promotes myocardial hypertrophy (Lyu et al., 2015).
