Another popular candidate, Lianhuaqingwen (LH), was shown to significantly inhibit SARS-CoV-2 replication in Vero E6 cells and markedly reduce production of pro-inflammatory cytokines (TNF-α, IL-6, CCL-2/MCP-1 and CXCL-10/IP-10) (Runfeng et al., 2020), suggesting that it might be a potential option for COVID-19 treatment.
