MTHFR and hypertensive disorder: In the present study, all the selected demographic (age and sex) and lifestyle (smoking, alcohol consumption and diet) confounders for hypertension were found to be significantly higher among the cases, whereas the biochemical (folate, vitamin B-12 and homocysteine) and genetic (MTHFR C677T gene polymorphism) variables were found to be distributed similarly in both the groups.
