In their study, secreted adiponectin levels in perinephric adipose tissue and intratumor adiponectin receptors (AdipoR1/R2) expression were not correlated with RCC aggressiveness or survival, whereas decreased BMI and increased serum adiponectin level was significantly associated with poor overall survival in patients with non-metastatic RCC, which might offer new molecular insight of ‘obese paradox’. Here, ADIPOR1 is linked to renal cell carcinoma.
