FASLG and cancer: In general, many previous studies demonstrated that increased expression of FASL and reduced expression of FAS were usually signs of malignant transformation and early features of development of human cancers (Gratas et al., 1998).Variety of tissues express FAS receptor; whereas, FASL receptors are only found in certain cells, mainly the cells involved with the immune system such as activated T cells and natural killer cells (Zhang et al., 2006).
