Previous studies have reported differential levels of p‐Akt/total Akt between two subtypes of bladder cancer cell lines: p‐Akt/total Akt was low in basal bladder cancer cell lines (SCABER and 5637) and high in either basal/luminal bladder cancer cell lines (T24 and J82),21 and transcription factor SP1 serves as a downstream protein in the PI3K/AKT signaling pathway, binding to the FTO promoter and activating transcription.22, 23. This evidence concerns the gene AKT1 and urinary bladder carcinoma.
