NFKB1 and renal fibrosis: Angiotensin (Ang) II can not only induce EMT (Seccia et al., 2019), ER stress (Menikdiwela et al., 2019), and renal fibrosis (Mezzano et al., 2001; Xu Z. et al., 2017), but also promote the production of reactive oxygen species (ROS) that further mediates the regulation of the nuclear factor-κB (NF-κB) pathway (Morgan and Liu, 2011), a crucial process tightly associated with different renal diseases (Zhang and Sun, 2015).
