We stimulated HC macrophages with the equal DNA quantity of NETs and found that BD NETs significantly induced macrophages to produce IL-8 (16.7 ± 4.3 ng/ml vs. 12.9 ± 4.1 ng/ml, p = 0.04) and TNF-α (166.4 ± 61.1 pg/ml vs. 102.4 ± 48.4 pg/ml, p = 0.005) compared with HC NETs (Figures 2A, B).
