Parkinson’s disease (PD) is an age-related and the second most common neurodegenerative disorder characterized clinically by classic motor symptoms, including resting tremor, bradykinesia, rigidity, and non-motor symptoms, including insomnia, constipation, and pathologically by the progressive loss of dopaminergic (DA) neurons in the substantia nigra (SN) pars compacta and the occurrence of Lewy bodies containing α-synuclein (Cao et al., 2011; Fasano et al., 2015; Kalia and Lang, 2015). This evidence concerns the gene SNCA and Parkinson disease.
