PGAP6 and Parkinson disease: To investigate whether the nociceptive impairment observed in the intramuscularly PFF-injected cohort is due to the prion-like spreading of α-Syn within the sensory nervous system, we performed immunofluorescence detection of PD-like α-Syn pathology (pSer129) in lumbar DRG and their dorsal sensory roots, spinal cord, and brain (mesencephalic PAG and thalamic nuclei) in the vehicle-, monomeric α-Syn- and PFF-injected M83+/− cohorts, at 45 dpi, as illustrated in Fig. 3a.
