We further analyzed the differential expression of HPRT1, STC2, PLCB3, GPR87, PYGL, and SLC5A12 in HNSCC and normal head and neck tissue and found that the expression of 6 glycolysis-related genes in HNSCC tissues is significantly upregulated compared with normal tissues (among which p < 0.001 for HPRT1, STC2, PLCB3, GPR87, and SLC5A12; p < 0.01 for PYGL) (Figure 6(b)). Here, PYGL is linked to head and neck squamous cell carcinoma.
