ATF4 and alkaline phosphatase measurement: STC2 overexpression resulted in the reduction of PERK activation due to negative feedback, then decreased phosphorylation of PERK and eIF2α in the mice pancreas, but increased the expression of ATF4 (activating transcription factor 4, a downstream molecule of eIF2α in PERK signaling pathway of UPR) and autophagy induction, indicating that the increased ATF4 might be the reason for elevated induction of autophagy and eventually reduce the pathological damage in AP.
