In the previous studies, lipopolysaccharide (LPS), component of Gram-negative bacteria, has been known to induce the release of proinflammatory cytokines such as tumor necrosis factor-α (TNF-α) and interleukin-6 (IL-6), which stimulates alveolar hemorrhage, alveolar wall thickening, and alveolar spaces shrinkage [6, 7]. This evidence concerns the gene TNF and hemorrhage.
