Chen et al. (Chen et al., 2006) informed that polysaccharide from C. sinensis probably inhibits tumor evolution mainly by modifying hosts' antioxidative action thru significantly enhancing SOD activity of brain, liver, and serum as well as GPx activity of liver and brain in tumor-bearing mice whereas, it remarkably reduces the MDA level in liver and brain (Chen et al., 2006). The gene discussed is SOD1; the disease is neoplasm.
