ED contributes to increased systemic vascular resistance and thus leads to the development and maintenance of hypertension [4]; persistent hypertension conversely impairs vascular endothelial function through reducing endothelial nitric oxide synthase (eNOS) activity or/and enhancing endoplasmic reticulum (ER) stress and oxidative stress [5–7]. The gene discussed is NOS3; the disease is hypertensive disorder.
