(2012) [47] observed that NLRP6-deficient animals were more resistant to infection by Listeria monocytogenes, Salmonella Typhimurium and Escherichia coli, showing an increase in the number of monocytes and circulating neutrophils, in addition to an increase in cell production of cytokines and chemokines dependent on NF-κB and MAPK pathways.
