Consistent with the targeting of cell types implicated in schizophrenia, the Der1 mutation dysregulates orthologues of many genes implicated as risk factors for schizophrenia and depressive disorders through large-scale GWAS and CNV studies, as we have previously shown for the t(1:11) translocation in IPSC-derived neurons12. This evidence concerns the gene DERL1 and schizophrenia.
