E-cadherin, as a calcium-dependent homo-type cell adhesion molecule, is a transmembrane glycoprotein distributed in all epithelial tissues, which is closely related to the occurrence, invasion and metastasis of cancer.[5] It can promote the adhesion between epithelial cells and maintain the integrity of tissue structure, which is an inhibitory factor of tumor metastasis. The gene discussed is CDH1; the disease is neoplasm.
