Several crucial genes such as p16, BRCA1, MLH1, HMSH2, ESR1, ESR2, RARB, CDH9, PRAC2, TDR10, APC, GSTP1, BIN1, BMP6, CST6, DKK3, RASSF1A, HOXD13, SFN, PITX2, SFRP1, CD3D, CD6, LAX1, UBE2C, TOPBP1 and TIMP3 involved in cell cycle, DNA repair and adhesion were hypermethylated in breast tumors (Radpour et al. 2009; Győrffy et al. 2016). This evidence concerns the gene BRCA1 and breast neoplasm.
