CRP and COVID-19: Increased release of cytokines such as IL-6, IL-10 and TNF-a (Drożdżal et al., 2020), as well as clinical laboratory markers of inflammation such as C-reactive protein (CRP), lactate dehydrogenase (LDH), and erythrocyte sedimentation rate (ESR) are elevated in patients with COVID19 with moderate to severe rates, thus suggesting the presence of generalized inflammatory response (Chen et al., 2020; Rodriguez-Morales et al., 2020), which could explain the presence of myalgia.
