CHRNA7 and esophageal squamous cell carcinoma: To explore whether inhibiting CHRNA7 expression or repressing its activity could be an efficacious therapeutic strategy, we first conducted bioinformatics analyses of the publicly available dataset with 95 human ESCC samples in cBio Cancer Genomics Portal (http://cbioportal.org) but failed to identify any mutation, deletion, fusion or two cases of amplification of CHRNA7 in this dataset (Supplementary Fig. 4a).
