Consistent with hypertrophy and the functional impairment of the PP2C-TG heart, an increased expression of cardiac ANP and BNP was noted: this is an increase in natriuretic peptides that is typically present in human heart failure and in many animal models of genetically induced, drug induced or aortic banding–induced heart failure (for a review, see Rabkin and Tang, 2020) and hence is plausible. This evidence concerns the gene NPPA and heart failure.
