Importantly, over 90% of the cell lines with an increased CN for at least one of the genes showed an increase for both loci (Fig. 2a, right panel), confirming that the amplification event of the two genes is tightly coupled and indicating that cancer cell lines representatively illustrate in vitro the FAM3C-MET co-amplification characteristics of primary tumors.
