We thus retrospectively compared serum levels of YKL-40 in a cohort of 103 patients infected by SARS-CoV-2 hospitalized between March 1 and April 29, 2020, with a group of 58 appariated healthy subjects (HS), 26 patients suffering from chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) and 53 from non-COVID ILD. The gene discussed is CHI3L1; the disease is chronic obstructive pulmonary disease.
