Since ABCB1 and ABCG2 are responsible for gedatolisib resistance in CRC cell lines, the mechanisms might be related with the alteration of efflux function of ABCB1 and ABCG2, videlicet, gedatolisib acts as a potential substrate of ABCB1 and ABCG2, which make it more easier to be pumped out of the ABCB1- and ABCG2-overexpression CRC cells, therefore resulted in drug resistance [37]. The gene discussed is ABCB1; the disease is colorectal carcinoma.
