Further research should evaluate whether such activation indeed has an extra oncogenic effect in these uveal melanoma cells which do not have a CYSLTR2 mutation, but carry an activating Gαq signalling mutation downstream in GNAQ, GNA11 or PLCB4. As a consequence, wild-type CysLT2R might also represent a therapeutic target in uveal melanoma. This evidence concerns the gene CYSLTR2 and uveal melanoma.
