Baseline BMI has been associated with oxaliplatin-induced CIPN in some studies,50 but not other oxaliplatin cohort studies.51,52 However, often other obesity measures including higher body surface area (≥2.0 m2) were linked to oxaliplatin-induced CIPN.19,51,53 Obesity is associated with increased idiopathic neuropathy risk54 and metabolic dysregulation, hyperinsulinemia, and insulin sensitivity, which can also predispose patients to neuropathy,55 so there is a mechanistic rationale for increased CIPN risk. Here, INS is linked to Obesity.
