PSMD1 and COVID-19: To speculate on the impact, patients with a relatively recent CoV infection (not SARS2) may develop a less severe form of COVID-19 while patients infected by another human-infecting CoV more than a year ago may result into a more severe form of COVID-19 with both scenarios being affected by the presence or absence of cross-reactive immune response from a prior human-infecting CoV contagion with some degree of structural similarity to one or both SARS2 S1-CTD and S1-NTD.
