Altogether, these results demonstrate that TTP seems to be downregulated in psoriasis in humans, accordingly to what was shown by experiments performed on animal models; in addition, it is capable of inhibiting inflammasome activity by directly targeting NLRP3 mRNA, suggesting that deregulation of the inflammasome in psoriasis and its comorbidities might be related to TTP deregulation.
