When compared to the FDA-approved multi-target Cologuard test (8), the clinical performance of methylated C9orf50, 85.9% sensitivity for all stage CRC with 95.0% specificity, appeared to be similar to that of Cologuard, 92.3% sensitivity for all stage CRC with 89.8% specificity, whereas 77.3% sensitivity for all stage CRC with 91.5% specificity of methylated KCNQ5 seemed to be inferior to those of Cologuard. Here, KCNQ5 is linked to colorectal carcinoma.
