The hallmarks of lectin pathway involvement—increased detection of Mannose binding lectin (MBL) and MBL-associated serine protease-2 (MASP-2) alongside cleavage products of complement C4 and C3—are found co-localised with SARS-CoV-2 in post-mortem lung tissue from adult COVID-19 patients (3).
