NLRP3 and myelodysplastic syndrome: What was not discussed in this review is the fact that prolonged hyperactivation of the Nlrp3 inflammasome is involved in sterile inflammation of BM, which may contribute to certain hematological pathologies, including myelodysplastic syndrome, myeloproliferative neoplasms, leukemia, the onset of graft-versus-host disease (GvHD) after transplantation, and the induction of cytokine storms, as seen as a complication in CAR-T cell therapy or COVID19 infection (reviewed in reference 13).
