The protective effect of CP may be linked with its potent anti-QS, anti-biofilm and anti-pyocyanin activity against P. aeruginosa. It is important to consider that in our study, none of the antibiotics (at sub-inhibitory concentrations) showed complete protective effect at the sub-MIC concentration (at 72 h), indicating that the anti-QS therapeutics may protect from acute infection progression, however for complete treatment of infection combinatorial therapies are needed. Here, CP is linked to infection.
