Publicly available PROGgene tool and gene expression data from patients with head and neck carcinoma indicated that an augmented expression of CAPN1, CAPN2, CTSB, and MMP11 genes in tumor tissue is associated with reduced overall survival (<40% in 5 years), while reduced levels of MMP25 transcripts lower 5-year overall survival. The gene discussed is MMP11; the disease is neoplasm.
