TAK-242, a specific inhibitor of TLR4, was reported to considerably attenuate epithelial–mesenchymal transition (EMT) in ovarian and breast cancer cells by suppressing extracellular degradation through targeting TLR4 and regulating matrix metalloproteinase-2 (MMP-2) and MMP-9 expression (Zandi et al. 2019). The gene discussed is MMP2; the disease is breast cancer.
