Immunohistochemical stainings to evaluate SLAMF7 expression in CD138+ myeloma cells (Figs 2) documented strong and consistent SLAMF7 expression in all EMD and bone marrow biopsies (Table 2), indicating a preserved expression of the antigen in myeloma cells even when located outside the bone marrow niche. This evidence concerns the gene SLAMF7 and plasma cell myeloma.
