A recent study showed that HLA-G expressed on fetal villus tissues was noticeably reduced in trisomy 16-induced early embryonic death (EED) and patients with EED, but normal fetal chromosomes (EEDNC) compared to villous tissues from patients undergoing elective abortion with normal fetal chromosomes (EANC) (Yao et al., 2019). The gene discussed is HLA-G; the disease is chromosome 16 trisomy.
