SPANXA1 and melanoma: SPANX-A/D may induce cell proliferation and migration in melanoma cells by forming multiprotein complexes that alter nuclear function because SPANX-A not only interacts with LMNA but also coimmunoprecipitates with several chromatin regulators, such as histones, and a wide range of RNA processing proteins involved in RNA stabilisation, translation and alternative splicing, among others.
